Technical Skills:
Dribbling: Close control, change of pace, and direction.
Passing & Receiving: Short- and long-range passing, using both feet and receiving under pressure.
Shooting: Different types of shots (instep, volleys, and chips) and accuracy.
Ball Control: Juggling, first touch, and playing the ball under pressure.
Tactical Understanding:
Positioning: Importance of space and positioning, both offensively and defensively.
Movement Off the Ball: Making runs, timing, and creating passing lanes.
Defensive Concepts: Marking, positioning, and 1v1 defending.
Transition Play: Switching from defence to attack and vice versa.
Small-Sided Games:
Emphasize 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 games for tactical learning in small spaces.
Use scrimmages to reinforce concepts from practice.
Physical Conditioning:
Agility Drills: Ladder drills, cone weaving, and quick footwork exercises.
Endurance: Short sprints, interval training, and fitness games that incorporate soccer elements.
Strength & Balance: Bodyweight exercises to improve balance, core strength, and coordination.
Goalkeeping (Optional):
For players interested in the goalkeeper position, include sessions on shot-stopping, positioning, and distribution.
