Soccer is Back for BCSPL Youth Teams.
With the recent re-start plans announced by the Provincial Government, combined with a recent meeting of the BCSPL Committee mostly made up of its member clubs, the BCSPL has agreed to play a two week exhibition schedule in preparation for a full fall “back to normal” schedule with all clubs participating.
The clubs and league office are currently building a two weekend exhibition schedule for the June 19/20 and 26/27 weekends. Due to the PHO restrictions expected to be in place at that time, this will be for lower mainland clubs only.
Full league play, with all 12 member clubs including the new 2009 born intake teams, will start on the September 11/12 weekend assuming the 4th step in the re-start plan does in fact come to fruition on September 7th. There will be no BCSPL League Cup for 2021, and instead, all clubs will play more games than normal during cup play, and will continue playing through the December 4/5 weekend. This will provide more games, extra development time, and value for all players who have missed a substantial amount of development time on the field.
