Q: Congratulations on gaining the opportunity to join the Whitecaps Pre-Residency Program. How did you feel when you got the invitation?
A: When I got the invite to the pre res program I was really excited. I couldn’t wait to start the season and face a very difficult challenge. I also felt very nervous even though soccer is the one thing that calms me down and that I can really have fun with.
Q: Do you feel your experiences at Fusion FC over the past 2 years have prepared you for this next challenge?
A: I feel that Fusion has taught me a lot over the past two years. Fusion helped me develop my strengths and concentrate on my weaknesses. It also helped me work better on a team and learn to embrace our wins and learn through our losses.
Q: What are some of the main things you’ll remember from your coaches that you’ll take with you moving forward into the Pre-Res?
A: Rich and Alex showed me the importance of always being positive and having a good attitude. They also taught me to enjoy and have loads of fun while working hard at soccer.
Q: What message would you give to the younger players in the club that have aspirations of making the Pre-Res program?
A: I would definitely say to younger players that losing and making mistakes is natural but if you work hard and commit yourself you’ll always come out on top.
Q: What would you say was your favourite Fusion FC memory?
A: Making friendships and placing second in the Provincial Cup and traveling to all our tourneys/having fun in hotels are the big memories.
