Congratulations Joy on completing your first few games in the BCSPL!
What grassroots club did you join Fusion FC from?
I was part of Vancouver Athletic FC
How long were you with your grassroots club and who was your coach at u12?
From Kindergarten I was with KLM then in the 2nd Grade-6th Grade I was with Vancuver Athletic. My coaches at U12 were MIchael Brown and Jason Gilmour.
How has the transition from the 8v8 field to the full 11v11 field been since joining Fusion?
For me it was pretty easy as I like to run, to sprint and score goals by receiving through balls, by out-skilling and unbalancing players. The 11v11 field is great because there is lots of space to run into. You have to be know where you are on the field and get side-on and keep the field really big. Fusion has really helped with that and has been a really good experience for me.
What are some of your Fusion highlights so far?
Striker practices have been so much fun and can help us in the future become professional soccer players which I really want to become. The striker training helps you know and master the technique to strike a ball. Helps you become a better striker and reach your full potential.
Who is your favourite professional player and your favourite professional team?
Paul Pogba! He scores from outside the box, he’s a legend. His goals are mind blowing, I just can’t explain it. His victory and celebration dances are hype! Just the way he plays makes me want to be like him. My favourite team is France because they won the FIFA world cup and also has a lot of talented players like Matuidi, Mbappe, Kante, and Pogba. They make soccer a great sport fun and I want to watch day and night.
