Fusion FC ran two pilot programs in the spring and are excited to announce that we will be running them again this fall season. Both of these programs have grown tremendously and our registration numbers are really high.
The two programs are the 1st Kickers Parent & Tot Program and the F.I.T. Adaptive Soccer Program. Both of these programs require lots of staff coaches and lots of volunteers as the coach-to-player ratio needs to be much larger than our other programs.
The 1st Kickers program is a parent & tot program for our U3 & U4 players. It’s a lot of fun and requires parent participation, but we have found that volunteers are often a lot more helpful than the parents as it allows the young players to try to be and play more independently.
The F.I.T. program is an adaptive soccer program providing a barrier-free soccer experience to children facing cognitive and/or physical limitations. Our goal is for the players to participate in the program without their parents so this is where the volunteers are really helpful. Our goal is to have a 1:1 ratio for players & coaches in the program.
The volunteers are not responsible for planning or leading any sessions, but will assist in helping the coaches set up and transition the players through activities as well as building relationships with the players and helping them participate more independently.
Here’s the schedule below:
Dates: Thursdays (September 19th to November 21st)
Location: Richmond Olympic Oval
Times:
5:30pm – 6:15pm – 1st Kickers
6:15pm – 7:00pm – F.I.T.
Please email me at csammarco@fusionfc.ca if you are able to volunteer on Thursdays. These are two amazing programs and they are a lot of fun. These programs are not possible without the help of our volunteers. It’s also great if you are available for even one of the two programs.
